Description: This work shows a pair of turtledoves resting on a cluster of Taihu stones. The turtledove has been an auspicious and lucky bird since ancient times, symbolizing longevity; the Taihu stone suggests prosperity and peace, heavenly fortune, and prosperity in time. The artist uses the outlining and water painting technique of underglaze coloring to dye the Taihu stones and uses the brushwork of dotting to finely paint the birds. The overall picture is simple, bright, warm and elegant.
