A small kingfisher, a branch of plum, and a lake stone painted on the vase are all superb expressions of the “thinly applied and lightly dyed” outlining and water painting technique of underglaze coloring. With a simple picture under a high temperature firing at 1380℃, the right atmosphere of pure elegance is created.
